we feel that our evening event at slide & seek is not meeting the needs of some of our older children.

we would like some feedback from children aged 10+ and what they would like to do once a month, some of the ideas was to go bowling at hollywood bowl, meet and chat to each other, play on their nintendo ds's and challenge one another or design and distribute a newsletter of their interest's. we would also like these children to sign up to the forum and chat safely  to one another and share their ideas.

all tasca memebers and professionals signing up to the forum have to be authourised so no unauthourised people can access this and it is monitored on a daily basis.

just realised there is an age minimum age limit on the forum for parents signing up children please put

any year and please give yours and your childs full name so i can authourise them.

many thanks

neil

What an excellent idea. I'm particularly impressed with the idea of the children being able to communicate with each other via this forum and think it has lots of potential for helping to build new friendships and share experiences. Just curious though, roughly how many children aged 10+ do you have on your database? Is it ok for me to ask that?

yes, i think the more poeple use this forum to ask questions the more it will grow and give people the answers they are loking for.

currently there is 35 children on the database born before 2000, more than enough to have their own social evening event.

idea's wanted, especially from the children themselves.

I think it would be great to have an activity specifically for the older children, but it would also be good to have gaming (nintendo psp etc) at slide and seek so that older children (particulaly those with younger siblings who are using the play area) have something to do.  They could bring their consoles and get together informally on the sofa's away from the worst of the hustle and bustle.

Hi everyone. This is a great idea and will help provide age appropriate social opportunities. Social isolation and difficulties accessing mainstream groups is frequently an ongoing subject of concern at home for our boys!

i have just spent a great hour of my time with 8 great children at our slide & seek session, the group of children have come up with the name of 10up zone. They spent 10mins filling in a short questionaire and from that we have realised that this session was too noisy, so the next session will be at a different venue. i am also planning a small trip over the 6weeks holiday for a small number of the 10up zone children to attend, more information will be available over the coming days.
